App Idea

Name: GeoPhoto, Photo Scout (??)

Framework:

Will be using Ionic Framework (HTML5 and AngularJS) to build a hybrid mobile application.

App Design:

The purpose of the app is to provide a space for users to discover and browse prime photo taking locations all over the world. When photos are taken, the photo will be tagged with the exact coordinate location and can be uploaded and shared with other users to a global map of sorts. Users can see and look up locations and the photos pinned to that place. Additionally, users can choose to be notified whenever they pass by a particular location that has been pinned many times (e.g. This location has been pinned 180,000 times - Eiffel Tower, Paris, France).

Target Audience:

The app is primarily directed towards millennials, from pre-teens to young adults.

iOS and Android  

Milestones:

Week 1

• Install and familiarize self with Angular js, node js, OS X, X code, Apache Cordova;
• Watch basic tutorials on using Ionic Framework

Week 2

• Set up basic pages for app
• Integrate font and color scheme

Week 3

• Do research to link app to google maps

Week 4

• Begin integration of location tagging
• Continue working on UI/UX

Layout:

• Basic homepage, navigation
• Photo taking page, access to camera (also option to upload photos)
• Search - search a location by name, key words (as tagged by users- beach, tower, mountain), coordinates
• World map - view photos pinned to map
